Life's biggest questions...

Kathy and I took a little time off this week, and spent three days in Palm Springs. After what seemed to be weeks of endless rain and cold weather, we had to find sunshine somewhere. Off we drove for the one place nearly assured to have sun...The Southern California high desert.

The Hotel Zoso, nice place. We recommend it. Very nice cucina...the food rocked. When not eating, we hung out by the pool, soaked in some rays, did a little shopping, rented a tandem and biked around town and hiked Tahquitz Canyon. We had tons of fun.

The highlights, well, just too many to mention. Mine was cruising up and down I-5, listening to the sweet strains of Kathy's voice harmonize with classic rock and roll tunes we'd grown up with. Nothing really tops that in my world. Beatles, Supertramp, Journey, Boston, on and on. We played the "name that artist" game to the songs which came up on the radio, which is what leads me to Life's biggest questions...one of which has to be....

When you're at a Saturday night dance, and Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird comes on..."How do you know when to start dancing fast?" Or in some cases, do you even end the slow dance part and break into the upbeat rock part? I recall being able to tell which couples were in serious relationships, cause they were the ones who kept right on slowwwwwww dancin!

We shared Saturday night dance stories from our adolescence, and reminisced about not only Freebird, but other artists and groups. We had more fun that two old farts are supposed to have. We think we'll go back soon.
